From the diplomatic point of view, the Israel-Iran crisis in 2025 represents a major threat to the stability of the region, as well as to the international order.
Several multilateral calls have been reiterated to contain and de-escalate the Middle East conflict, one of the most important being the Joint Declaration issued by 21 Arab and Islamic countries on June 17, 2025, supported by China.
Another important multilateral call was made by the UN Security Council, in which, through emergency sessions, it urged restraint on both sides, before the “serious nuclear security risks.”[1]
It is important to point out that last June 13, 2025, the fifteen members of the Security Council called for “privileging diplomatic channels to resolve their disputes.” [2]
In view of the concern about this conflict, countries such as China and Russia have shown their willingness to mediate in the conflict.
For their part, the diplomacy of the countries of the region has been active in seeking solutions through dialogue.
Thus, the crisis between Israel and Iran has led several countries in the international community to join bilateral and multilateral diplomatic efforts to prevent the conflict from escalating into something regional or even international.
This conflict is perceived by many nations as a direct threat to stability in the Middle East and to international security.
